Editorial Policy

The Kansas City Education Enterprise is an independent source of professional journalism located in Kansas City, Mo.

One of our major principles is to survive financially without compromising our mission of producing balanced, fair and constructive journalism about public education policy and practice in the Kansas City metropolitan area. We continually strive to develop diverse sources of revenue. We will make it clear to our philanthropic funders and paid sponsors that they cannot influence our editorial product.

Some of our funders and sponsors will take strong positions on education policy, though these positions may vary widely. But all must understand that their beliefs do not influence our editorial decisions.

Comment Policy

This is the comment policy for news stories and videos posted on the KC Education Enterprise.

We want this site to be a place where people can debate issues vigorously and remain respectful. The debate should be lively, and even pointed at times, but always civil.

Our guidelines:

– No personal attacks. It is possible to disagree with people without attacking them personally.

– Address the issue. Don’t bother with rants or rambles off topic.

– In general, comments should be relatively short. If you’d like to discuss a topic at length, contact the publisher at [email protected].
