Lee’s Summit School District’s Board of Education met Thursday evening, Jan. 24. From a policy standpoint, the highlights of their agenda were:
- A report on filing for two open seats on the Board of Education. According to the agenda:
Filing for the upcoming April Board Election closed last week with two candidates filing for the two available seats up for re-election. This means there will be no school board election in April. Current Board member Phyllis Balagna and newcomer Bob White will be sworn in after the regular April Board of Education Meeting on April 11, 2013. Congratulations to Bob and Phyllis and thank you for your willingness to serve the students, staff, and families of the R-7 School District for the next three years.
- Unanimous approval of the audit report for the 2012 fiscal year, which showed no significant deficiencies or material weaknesses.
