Raytown School District’s Board of Education met Monday evening, Jan. 14. From a policy standpoint, the highlights of their agenda were:
- An announcement that two school district and City of Raytown legislative forums are scheduled for dates in March and April.
- An energy program report showing how much money the district has saved on utility costs through conservation measures. Utilities are usually one of a district’s greatest expenses, second only to staff salaries.
- A report on the district’s legislative platform.
- A report on district safety measures in the wake of the shootings at Connecticut’s Sandy Hook Elementary School.
