Kansas
Shawnee Mission School District
Highlights:
- Approving changes to the district policy governing acceptable use of the computer network and internet access and another governing public gifts and donations to schools.
- Considering proposed changes to three other policies. One governs school-based child-care administration, and two others govern reports of child abuse and neglect.
Spring Hill School District
Highlights:
- Hearing a preliminary enrollment report for the 2012-2013 school year. State funding is based on enrollment.
- Scheduling public meetings to discuss school boundaries. The first meeting will take place at 6 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 4, at Spring Hill Elementary School. And the second will take place at 5:30 p.m., Monday, Sept. 10, at Prairie Creek Elementary School.
Missouri
Center School District
Highlights:
- Setting tuition rate
North Kansas City School District
Highlights:
- Holding a public hearing to discuss this year’s proposed property tax rate in support of public schools.
- Unanimously approving Superintendent Todd White’s recommendation that the rate stay the same as last year.
- Approving this year’s budget with all voting in favor except for Dixie Youngers, who abstained.
- Discussing the annual evaluation of Superintendent Todd White.
Belton School District
Highlights:
- Holding a public hearing to discuss this year’s proposed property tax rate in support of public schools.
- Hearing Superintendent Andrew Underwood’s report, including information on the district’s 2012 financial audit, an energy education agreement and tuition rates for the current school year.
