The Bonner Springs-Edwardsville School District’s Board of Education will meet Monday, May 7, at 7 p.m.
In addition to routine agenda items — such as hearing an update on bleacher replacement and paying dues to the Kansas Association of School Boards — members will consider a district Debt Issuance Compliance Policy.
Debt for districts take the form of school bonds, similar to mortgages for homeowners. Last month, board members heard a report on bond refinancing from a representative of the George K. Baum investment banking company. Many districts are taking advantage of favorable interest rates to save money by refinancing debt.
The meeting, which is open to the public, will take place at the District Office; 2200 S. 138th St.; Bonner Springs, KS 66012. Board members will meet again later this month on Monday, April 21.
