The Gardner Edgerton School District’s Board of Education met Monday, April 2, at 6 p.m.
In addition to routine items on the agenda, such as buying new high school lockers and approving an out-of-state student trip, school board members spent much of the evening overseeing details of school bond sales and construction to be funded by those sales.
One of the projects being funded by bond sales is construction of a new middle school. Overland Park-based DLR Group — the firm overseeing building projects funded by the sale of newly approved bonds — made a presentation to the board about the new middle school. Construction is slated to begin this spring.
Also on this evening’s agenda was a resolution to approve the bond sale authorized by voters.
The Board of Education meeting, which was open to the public, took place in the District Offices Building; 231 E. Madison St.; Gardner, KS 66030. Their next regular meeting will take place on Monday, April 16.
