In addition to routine items on the agenda, such as paying the bills and revising the list of substitute teachers, board members will have a full schedule.
One significant agenda item this evening will be considering whether to create a new community relations position. Last month, Superintendent John Lacy identified community relations as a challenge for the district and asked the board to allow him to hire a new employee. According to the job description Lacy will present to the board tonight, the new hire would be in charge of media and community relations.
The Board of Education meeting, which is open to the public, will take place in Room 8 of the district’s Early Childhood Center; 113 Line Street; Excelsior Springs, MO 64024.
