The Independence School District’s Board of Education is scheduled to meet this evening at 6:30 p.m.
According to the meeting agenda, the board will be closing out business for the last academic year and getting ready for the next. They are scheduled to hear a financial audit report for 2011. In addition, they will consider next year’s program of studies and school district calendar.
Also on the agenda is the appointment of a task force to decide on a name for the new elementary school under construction in the fast-growing eastern part of the district.
The meeting, which is open to the public, will take place at the district’s central office; 201 N. Forest Ave.; Independence, MO 64050.
